Default Want to clean out my Engine Bay.

Im about to go out and buy some engine degreaser and whatnot. Just want everything I should cover up that I shouldnt be getting wet. Yea...I don't know too much about what I shouldnt be getting wet except for the obvious intake. Anything else I gotta worry about?? And whats the best brand of engine cleaner I should get???

engine degreaser will eat up any paint under your hood so....watch the body and any painted engine parts

Easy-Off oven cleaner.

Get the motor hot, spray on, and wipe off.

Bleach works wonders! just dump it all over the engine, then quickly start it and rev it to 9,000 rpms while singing "life will go on"

i spray my engine down with the degreaser after covering the said parts above, and after letting it sit for a few minutes, i start the car THEN spray it off, that way the heat from the engine will evaporate the water and it wont sink down into the spark plug holes or into any innocent electrical connectors.

Thanks for the advice guys, I let the car cool down, covered the intake and distributor and sprayed it down with the degreaser I had, let it sit for a few then sprayed it off. Worked great, thanks again for the help.

I never said it will magically wash off paint but if you get a decent amount on there and rub it the paint will come off eventually
