Well the BP 1.6 went out on me. I was gonna sell as a shell, but decided since my bud gave me his complete KA drivetrain for free, includes everything. Everything is out of a 98 240sx SE, it had less than 20k on it. He kinda wrecked the car, and ins paid him, and he bought a body kit *to fix damange* and a S15 front clip for the SR install.

I talked to a few shops, they say they can do the install for around 5k. I drop the car and everything off, pick it up in 2-3 weeks.

So yeah KA-T MX-5 FTW!

cant you drop a used stocker in it for cheaper than $5k?? hell for $5k you could drop an LS1/T56 in the miata!

you buy an LS1-T56 on ebay for $3k (try to find one close so you can pick it up and not pay shipping)

you will have to get a high milage one since the low milage ones are fetching $5k and up

things you will need:

Full LS1-T56 combo with computer
welder
welding skillz (yes you need enought to pay the bills)
misc. bolts
LS1 engine mounts
T56 cross member
Grinder with a metal cutting wheel
1/4" thick steel plates for welding and cutting
Really big hammer for "massaging" areas of interest.

If you do it all yourself you will be right at $5k

 

 

yup fever said 5k for the install, because of everything custom that is needed to be made. Which to think about it isn't that bad. I just wish I had my hands on a SR, because it would still be about the same price.
