Cliff Notes:

People got rich from defrauding others through credit cards and catalogs.

End result is the Fed's take all of their stuff and put it up for auction.

Auction site's link

I bet they sell way under book value.

I think the F40 could easily catch near a million, but I don't think that'll happen at this auction.

While the court found in favor of the FTC in the civil case, Olmstead and Connell were not charged with any crimes, according to Steve Cole, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
So they were convicted of no crimes, hell, they weren't even charged with any crimes and the government took everything they owned??

Where's Chuck?

BBB, look in your quote takin from the paper. They lost the civil case, not the criminal case. The judgement must have been huge as the feds seized more then $1.5mil

If the government isn't going to bring criminal charges, they need to stay the hell out of it, period. If an individual that was "ripped off" wants to file a lawsuit, that is their business. If the people that were "ripped off" want to get together and file a class action lawsuit, that is their business. God knows that there are plenty of attorneys to take the case.

In this case the government has sued, won, and taken personal property from individuals based on their guilt without even charging them with a crime, let alone convicting them.

So is it safe to assume the government is selling the poperty to compensate the victims? Or is it to put it in their own greedy little pockets?
