Default Boost gauges: Mech. VS Electric

I'm in the market for a better boost gauge since mine doesn't seem to be reading very accuratly. Can you guys point me in the right direction because I have been reading different reviews on which is the most accurate and such. Either mechanical or electronic. I was looking into the Blitz BLM, but not sure if Mechanical is the way to go. I need a accurate reading boost/vac gauge for under 200 bucks and it cannot require a sending unit(like Defi) and it does not need to have a peak/hold feature. Reccomendations/suggestions welcome. Thanks.

well for what you are looking for, mechanical is really your only choice.

The electric ones all need a sending unit

hmm.well I guess Eletronic won't be bad after all, I'm reading more and more on them. Defi's seem to be pretty good gauges. It seems like it will be money wisely spent? Thinking ahead in case I choose to add on..? Other opinions?

Defi's are actually awesome gauges. I like the way they look and actually I've heard they are very precise and acurate. I wish I could afford them. I would buy some. I've always prefered Electric over Mechanical, some argue back and fourth on this matter but thats my preference.

Default Urban Camoflaging/Gauges

I prefer mechanical over electrical.

As part of "urban camoflaging" I don't want an electronic screen where the cops will mistakenly think they see a "radar detector", or "TV viewer".

And .......I mount my gauges below the dash line to lessen it being seen.
When people put them on the window post, not only does it give them something to smack their face against in a crash, but the lights attract the
cops, who have seen buttheads on the street with window post gauges,
..........and they think "here's another one.....".-Bob

what kind of line does your boost guage use...the older soft vac lines dont read very accurate at all compared to the nylon lines. ive always preferred mech. over electric with boost guages.

its a autometer, don't remember what kind, but it's kinda messed up to begin with. So I'm going to upgrade. I am buying a panel for my gauges and I need to tell the guy what to cut it out for(size wise) and I guess I'm going to go with the electrical. ??? I just don't see how electrical could not be more accurate than a mechanical one..being as its connected and reads from the sending unit and such..
