Colored bulbs do nothing but tint the light coming out of the bulb, you do get a colored like but you also get less visibility. Before I bought my HIDs I had Nokya bulbs which looked HID-ish. I would reccomend saving up for HIDs though, its much better than any type of regular bulb I have ever seen.

Also blue light is a shorter wave legnth. the shorter wave legnth the less it will penetrate. Meaning if you take two equal wattage bulbs, one blue and one yellow, in non-clear conditions such as fog or rain the yellow lights will shine further. Ever wonder why fog lights are alway yellow?

I run Silverstars in my car. (2) 9005s and (2) 9006s the light is white enough that i cannot see very well during rain, i have since added small 55W driving lights, compared to the silverstars the driving lights are yellow, i can now see much better in the rain.

You do understand your trying to explain this to a guy that wants to just change the color of his lights in his car so they look like christmas trees :-p

Screw some christmaslights in there and call it a day.

Whats wrong with H.I.D. conversion kits in cars that don't come stock with them?? Mine are the brightest money can by, 6000k. The higher you go the more color they have. 6000k are the whitest with a slight blue tint, and 12000k being purple. If any one wants a kit I got them for $250.
