Define: TORQUE
Torque is best defined by the amount of power it takes to hold the monster down when trying to take a leak with morning wood.

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.

In the majority of motorsports a "high powerband" is preferable because if you make good TQ in the high RPM's you will make even more HP because of the way they relate and whatnot...I'm just babbling now.
Tq is the begining of everything. You cant have ANY hp without it. They are one in the same and can never be seperated...HP is a linear, never changing function/product of Tq and rpm and nothing more. They are forever connected in linear fashion by a simple equation. HP is simply the next step in a calculation that BEGINS with Tq.

HP= (RPM)(TQ)/5252RPM's
Thats why it's most benficial to have lot's of rev's and lots of torque at the same time.

Yes rpm is just the other factor. You can directly measure rpm..and you can directly measure TQ. Hp is just a result of those DIRECTLY measured items. You cant directly measure HP because it is a result of two or more factors.
So for the others that said more hp is better in one area and more tq is better in another area.. That wont work. If you have more tq in a specific area...you will aslo get more HP in that same area since HP is just the result of tq x rpm/5252.
