Certificate of destruction title
Say you were to buy a car in FL that has a COD title, if it's been rebuilt properly couldn't you take it to another state and apply for a rebuilt title??
Was wondering b/c there is a very nice RSX type-S for sale right now in cars for sale for $7000 and that's a steal if you ask me..

The long answer is there may still be a backward ass state out there that still uses an abacus for their DMV computer. But even if you find them and get it titled, you will never take it out of that state and get a title. The second another state with a 21st century computer enters the VIN it will come back COD and you'll be SOL.

It is 100% complete, in 100% PERFECT running condition, and I was going to offer him a trade for my 95 teg, I was also thinking buying a wrecked shell thats got a clean title for cheap, just for the title and vins, but that's asking for some trouble...
I'm just not understanding why if the car is 100% perfect why it couldn't be issued a rebuilt title..

Because at one point in its life it was so mangled it would cost too much to repair compared to what its worth.
And FWIW, I doubt very seriously the car is 100% perfect. I'm sure someone that's been around wrecks could pick that car apart.
