Default how much to register car in FL

Car was bought for $3,000. Transfer of Tag to new car. How much about am I looking to spend?

This time when I go to the Clerk Court/Tax collector's office, I want to be prepared to make it as smooth as possible.

Thanks
Mike

200-ish for car title state transfer.
It's the total amount for title transfer, and new title. Doesn't take long to do it at all.

Tax is 210 if you bought it privately. I don't know exactly what the fees for tag/title transfer are. I'd guess 300 but it's been a long time since I've done it so take it for what it's worth.

You can always call them... or I am sure it is online somewhere. Also depending on when the car was bought you have within a certain amount of time to have it registered or it is an extra fee.

I also think that any sale of a vehicle has tax applied when you register it, and tax is based on how much you bought it for......how much did you pay after the guy gave you the discount? it was $3000 asking price wasn't it? oh and he didn't give it to you because the dmv will automatically put a value on it.

Yeah. I bought a car for 5,000 and wound up paying around $530 in tax, tag and title transfer.
