My mom lost the title to my brothers car and she went to the Tax Collector office and they gave her a new one. Was the car already registered under your name prior to going to the shop... did it have your tag? Was the title under your name or the sellers? If it was under the sellers name, see if you can contact him or her and see if they will go to the Tax Collector office with you and you pay to have him or her get another title. While your there you might as well get the title under your name. Thats the only solution I have.

You have no choice but to track down the owner who you bought the car from, that will be the easiest way, other ways will be more involved, time consuming and a little costly.

Other ways: Buy a car with a blown motor that HAS a title, swap
EVERYTHING but the shell over into it, and scrap the "no title" car.
..........and be more careful in the future.

If you know someone who buys a possible stolen car,
you can tell them what I just told you......or go to your local chop shop
and they can take care of you..... -Bob

A storage/impound or auto repair shop. You know anyone really well that won't screw you at any of these places?
