Default Quick muffler question on dual exhaust..

Which is better? True duals with an H pipe or single muffler with dual outs? Which would sound better/deeper? This is going on a V6 btw...

H-pipe produces more power imho.
....and sound is in the ears of the beholder......unless it's the fuzz listening from 26 ft away... -Bob

A V6 Explorer? The stock exhaust is what's going to sound good. V6's with loud mufflers sound like shit.

H and X pipes produce cleaner exhaust velocity, so they produce better numbers. True duals sound better, IMO, but as I stated earlier, nothing is going to sound good on a V6 Explorer.

lol well I actually have a 50 series SUV muffler on my explorer now and it sounds pretty good, it just isnt that loud.

I wanted to run something more to get a louder/deeper tone out of it. Its the 4.0 SOHC

i know its an explorer...so your tellin me all the trucks on the road that have exhaust should have left their trucks stock? All i wanted to know is how true duals would sound over a regular muffler with dual outs....i already have modified exhaust so stock is out of the question

the bigger your muffler the deeper the sound. Back when I had a six I went through about 4 different exhausts. Ended getting the same style muffler in the biggest size that would fit. Although quieter made the sound deeper. However it is all in the matter of what you want out of it. Everyones opinion will differ from what you feel is perfect.
