Loud pipes beware - photo enforcement now targeting noise violators

I agree that system seems lacking any real way to tell who's doing what, unless they are the only car on camera. I can see it being used to make BS charges, etc.
Here's hoping they keep them out of FL altogether.

Now, I don't see how this system could work. Unless I'm on the only car passing the intersection at any specific time, how is a video of noise with my car in it going to prove that I was the one making the noise? My Cadillac has 1400 watts in the trunk, but if I'm at a light with 15 other cars, how do they prove that it was my car bumping the bass? Same goes for my Camaro. How are they going to prove, via video in traffic, that they heard my mufflers vs. someone else's? Sounds like a system with too many holes.

If you have an aftermarket exhaust, that is good enough reason to pull you over.

when i had my old camaro i used to get cops called on my for it just ideling in my parking lot.
but they have to be 25 feet behind the car when they do the test. my car was around a 120,130 or so.

So what's the point of the aftermarket law? We don't have emissions tests anymore, so that line doesn't work. If they want, people should be allowed to run chainlink fence posts as long as it doesn't stick out too far, make too much noise or pose a safety hazard.
It's a law aimed squarely at specific people, and that is illegal. Not the first time it's happened, but illegal, nonetheless.
