Default Can someone explain to me this

When i go to put gas in my car when i untie the cap there is like vacume air coming out? Can anyone explain to me why? And is it bad? thx

probably some sort of tank purge line to release excess pressure

its because your full pick up sucks gas into your lines witch will give u a vaccum afect in your tank.ever car i've owned has done it.

which is why they say not to "top off" your tank because it could expand so much and spill gas out of the vent which of course is poluting.

when you have gas in an inclosed space (tank in your car, or even a gas can) and it sits in the heat and is shaken around it will expand and create a gas (gas form not gas, gas)... this gas has no place to escape, thus pressure...

Sounds like a vacuum release on mine, definately not expansion release.

Take your car to the dealer IMMEDIATELY!!! I read somewhere on the internet that that sound can lead to an explosion
