I have a V1.. when i driving north bound on bruce b downs, as i pass the texaco gas station and self car wash it'll start going off if the cops are sitting at that church entrance area kinda close to the I75 on ramp..

I was accelerating once to pass a semi, didnt want rock chips on my car, and the car behind me had an instant on i guess cuz it started to go off like crazy... and it pointed behind me with a bogey counter of 1... So i stopped accelerating and slowed down.. Was a cop.. that was behind me...

The V1 is an awesome radar detector.. I wouldnt skimp and buy anything other than it or the passport. I did when i was younger and that was a mistake.

Yeah, they like to lazer right at the entrance before Lowes on the right. I mean the cop is literaly in the bushes, lol. I never speed there.

I know people that swear by the high priced Passports and Valentine detectors. They have great range if the officer is sitting or driving around with their radar on.

If they are using instant on or laser all the radar detector is going to do it tell you are about to be pulled over.

It all depends on how you drive. I typically drive 10-20 miles over the speed limit, but I slow down where office normally sit and I try not to draw attention to myself. I have an old school $100 Cobra detector and a clean driving record. I have friends that drives slower then I do with the Valentine detector that are always on the verge of a license suspension.

Moral of the story the Passports and Valentine are the best detectors and expensive, but it still comes down to how you drive.

+1 to above and also putting the detector on the bottom of the glass halfs the range...

V1 all the way dont cheap out. spending 400 now will save you a lot more later. my v1 has saved me so many times. if you do get a cheap one. the best thing to do is watch drivers ahead of you. it looks like they are breaking for no reason. but usally a cop there.

Either get the best, or "run naked"!
Anything else is wasted money.-Bob

Ride with ZDriver and see why he uses the V1. Go to the web and read up
on the tests. Car and Driver Magazine says V1's arrows are the best.-Bob
