and personally I dont see how the turbo set up will be all that much cheaper versus a pre-existing s/c kit for that motor.

In that case I would go with a s/c

i vote s/c also, but as for the johnnyracecar intercoolers i can atest to the build quality. I believe there are a few others running around on them too. I just upgraded to a bigger intercooler and went with johnnyracecar again.

YES, great point. I completely forgot about rear mount setups, and in this situation that would be a good candidate for one.

How bout a link on the STS rear mount kit. When i say it would be cheaper to go turbo I didn't mean buying a kit, I meant pieceing it together ourselves.
The hypertech power tuners dont support FI.
EngineBuilder this 'truck' does see more than 5500rpm....actually about 6200
also i don't see where you are coming from saying that you dont understand why you wouldn't build a motor for it to handle what you are throwing at it. This motor with a stock reciporcating assembly can support 6 lbs daily easily.
Once again you speak as if there is no such thing as a boost controller or a "wastegate", when you say that the idea was to use a turbo that the owner would have virtually no no chance of blowing his motor on....
