spectating ticket!
I don't want to hear any shit about what I'm about to say, lol..
I have received 14 spectating tickets. I've always paid the fine and that was it. My last ticket was 13 months ago, so the laws might have changed.

yea deffinetly changed the laws since then, now that citation number 316.191 is also racing on highways so i dont kno how they will deal with it, hopefully i get off easily since my license is clean
It sucks for you. The last time I got in trouble like this I was Racing from a light in the middle of town and the cop was right behind me in an unmarked car that I didn't even see and I spun tires and smoked and everything and he pulled me over for racing and I told him I was in the middle of a medical emergency (At least I'm not 100% lying I am diabetic
) and he told me to slow down and don't let him catch me again and he let me go never even ran my plates. Of course it would have been nice he pulled the fricking accord over too but oh well... It still sucks to be you.

looks like a $500-$1000 fine and loss of license for 1 year.
This looks like the part they are trying to get you under. "2. In any manner participate in, coordinate, facilitate, or collect moneys at any location for any such race, competition, contest, test, or exhibition; ". The problem I see is that you had to do something to make the race possible or easier. the deffinition of all these criteria don't include just sitting on your ass doing nothing but observing. I would try to find as many people that were there as I could, to see what you as a group could do. The argument in court would be something like." Your honor in order to fullfill the provisions of this statute I would have had to do something to enable this race to happen, or have made it easier. Since I did nothing to further the intentions of the racers and had I not been there the race still would have occured. My absence from the location would not have changed any part of the race, therefore the criteria of this statute do not apply to this incident." Now I am not a lawyer ( I tell the truth too much) but having several friends in law enforcement and having experience in law enforcement, this would be how I would approach it.
ive heard of these tickets but never gotten one. I dont see how you can get a ticket for being someplace that someone desides to illegaly race. That means if you happen to be behind 2 cars on the road taht deside to race, you could get a ticket for just being there. They would have to prove you actully had something to do with the race and knew the race was going to happen, as opposted to just being there and 2 jackasses desided to race.
