Rolex 24 2006
just a small, small fraction of the pictures i took...
here are some sample photos:

Don't try it if you follow this car:

the engines sit REALLY low in those prototypes:

Rusty Wallace, Jan Lammars, Allan McNish, and Danica Patrick:

The wonderful thing about Playboy Racing is the PR type people:

Spice Acura GTPL car:

The only reason race cars have big wheels is because the brakes are equally huge. that spice acura "only" had 16 inch wheels.... here is why:

Starting grid:

Chip Ganassi Racing in turn 1:

from the grandstands:

the grand stands are huge, too... and there was still some behind me as well:

yeah, i was quite a ways up...

would you believe there is a chain link fence between me and this car?

as the photo taken about 10 seconds later proves (yes, these cars move fast... they are NOT easy to frame...

night racing!

fireworks! (i had to leave watching bullet right after the fireworks).

sunday morning, 18 hours after the start of the race.... in 18 hours, parts sometimes get lost...

endurance races give a good beating...

i love the paint job on this gto-r

this car was gorgeous, my camera's AF just couldn't get a good lock on it

2 noble M12s

i like this pic because it features 3 different cars on 3 different parts of the track

ill take 2 shots of crown royal, please...

i love the paint schemes on the racer's group's cars:

ahh, the pr ladies again...

this isn't in focus, but the timing sure ruled.. the car you see is the one that won, if you look up, you can see that the checkered flag is waving... yes, this is the winning car crossing the start/finish line:

they apparently were doing a photo shoot, so i shot some photos too (who wouldn't!)

have i mentioned the hell these cars go through?

yes, that's me... and courtney culkin (miss april 2005)

it's a 0-speed transaxle!

ash from bonfires all over the CRX

empty infield section near nascar turn 3

[QUOTE=senor honda]AWESOME! Great pics. I liked your comments, too.
What was stock car guy Rusty Wallace racing?-Bob
Rusty has been interested in racing sports cars for some time.... I saw in an interview where he said he wanted to run the 24hr race before he retires from motorsports.
I saw his "cup" road car at Sebring a few times many years ago... circa 1998. I am not sure if he/his team still owned it.
