Let me add to my previous statement....

Driving at Tampa Bay Grand Prix in their electric go-carts in flip-flops is not good at all. Get your flop stuck so that the accelerator is stuck, and you'll realize why its against the rules! Plus, it screws up your lap.

I can drive in shoes and even some of my heels, but NOT flip-flops. I've had them get stuck a few times so I always just drive barefoot.

buncha of damn hillbillies up in here. shiiit. haha. Tennis shoes, dress shoes, whatev. But NOT "flippers" <--- who the hell says that anyways. Barefoot=suck. dirt up in your shit, hard ass peddals tearing at your foot, etc.

PS: I read the title and was thinking scuba diving flippers. Im like "how the f..."

no way you'll catch me driving in flip flops. i'm all about safety when i drive and i'm not one to put myself at risk of my shoes getting caught up somewhere. my favorite shoes to drive in is adidas shelltoes/superstars. i can also drive in my adidas running shoes, but i get the best grip in the shelltoes. i've been known to actually drive to work in my shelltoes and change into a different pair of shoes!

I like driving barefoot best. I had to give it up for a while because I had a clutch so stiff it would bruise the bottom of my left foot. But I gave up on the idea of making enough power to make use of that clutch, and downgraded to a clutch that's a bit more reasonable.

The only compromise is wearing Sperry boat shoes. The thin brown-leather type. I prefer the pedal feel from bare feet but can put up with the thin boat shoes. I can barely drive the car in tennis shoes.
