Ok im a little confused,
WeldlRacing wheels
when they say 4in backspacing is that,
From the outter lip,to the hub?
Or

ok you just confised the shit otu of me with them 7337 terms.
So if you have a
3in
4in
5in back spacing... the 3 in would result in a "deeper" dish wheel?
Here is a couple site's that show how to measure

the pics on datireshop helped..
do you have anything that shows how to mesure my wheelwell to determin, backspacing vs width?

There probably is a formula for figuring what you are asking.
It might be easier to make a mockup, though, to see how wide you can go with what diameter tire and what amount of offset.
Anyone have a computer program that figures this?-Bob

This has it. It uses a Camaro for example. Prob do a search for "calculating backspace or offset" with what kind of car may narrow it down to what you need.

I've seen how to make a fixture to check backspacing and tire size.
Take a flat bar and drill holes in it so it can bolt to your hub (at least 2 lugs I'd say)
Cut the bar so it hangs off the hub as far as your overall tire diameter and drill a hole in it.
Cut a piece of threaded rod as wide as your tire width. Stick the rod thru the bar, and get 2 nuts, and run one nut on each side of the bar.
Now you can rotate the hub (and thus the bar) and make sure the threaded rod doesn't hit the wheelwell or suspension. You can fine tune the "offset" by threading the rod in and out of the bar. Once you can swing the bar all around without hitting, you'll know your tire width is fine (based on the length of your threaded rod) and you can measure your backspacing to see which wheel you need.

Brilliant! I like your idea!
Adding...I would also make some ride heighth blocks to go on the fixture side, under the suspension, so I am checking it without the suspension extended upward by my hydraulic jack.-Bob
