Default What wax are you guys using?

I have been through a series of different waxes that I have been applying by hand and nothing seems to be getting out the really fine scratches. What waxes are you guys using that you are really happy with?

McGuire's (sp.)

But what are "scratches"? Really though, I don't use it to try to get scratches out I just want a better shine and more protection for my car.

I'm sure that someone will be along shortly to inform you that the Bosch suborbital 10.8Krpm angle grinder polisher is a must, but Meguire's 3 step wax and a $30 Craftsman 8" buffer work great for me.

Wax doesnt get rid of any scratches. Some cheap waxes contain a filler that may hide some of the finest scratches for a few days till it wears off. What you need is a good high speed *orbital* polish with some polishing compound - Menzerna #9 is great for fine scratches(spider webbing).

This is how i get rid of minor paint scratches

what you need:
water and carwash soap
some cloths/rags
lighter fluid/charcoal fluid
carwax (optional but recommended)
money you will spend: NOTHING, if you have all these in your garage

1. wash and scrub the area very good. More than likely that alone will get a decent amount of paint scratches off your car. dry area well.

2. Pour some fluid in a rag and rub over scratches. This should get rid of the remaining paint. Wash area thoroughly to remove any flammable fluid on it.

3. apply wax on area to buffer and bring out a nice shine

Ive also heard of something called claybar but never tried it.

I use Mcguires Gold Class, and sometimes the Claybar.

i use jeff's werkstatt for wax, as for scratches you can try scatch-x but if that doesnt work you need someone with a high speed buffer or polisher(porter cable)
