Right now,my car is black.

Im doing a complete color change over,either to a high metallic silver,or a gun metal/charcol/pewter look.

Should I paint the engine bay the same color as body?
Or just black it out.

If I do black it out,I will use water based paint,and not sure if I can clear it.
Any paint and body people here?

i would just use some high gloss black spray paint.thats what i'm going to use for mine when i get the engine out.

 

Ya I would make it the same color as the body.

 

If you only reason for making it black is to hide dirt then paint it the body color.

 

if its for show paint it the same color if its just to pop the hood to show your friends what ya got go with the black.

 

I did that once.I used high temp engine paint,but in gloss black..I want to strip the shit out of it.

I really do want to go same color as body,but taking out the booster and other shit is going to be a pain in the ass.

But in the long run,Im going to like it.

I think im going same as body,I was going to paint the engine bay with the front clip off,fenders/nose/bumper etcx etc
