Default Anyone own an impound lot?

Looking to get a car that has been sitting for a few years titled, last owner is out of state, title got lost. Looking for company to do paperwork for proceedure TL 26, and get me title. Would prefer to keep car in hand, so work can continue over the 35 days, but thats all negotiable, because i dont need anyone doing anything other than by the book. It would help me, but dont wanan get anyone in a jam. Give me a PM if you know anyone, would prefer to pay after you recieve title, but can maybe do like 50/50.

LMK.

I can help you...meet me at the 7-11 and give me 350.00. I'll be back to the same 7-11 48hrs later with your title in hand for the other 350.00

There isn't a book in the world that says, "if you can't get a duplicate title, find an impound yard to get one for you"

Not saying it can't be done.
Not saying it hasn't been done.
But it's not the way it is supposed to be done.
I'm sure if you get with the tag office and the previous owner you can work something out with signed and notarized forms. That is, if the previous owner wants you to have the car

the previous owner is out of state, and hasnt owned the car for years.

It may not be what they intended the proceedure to be for, but it most certainly applies. TL 26 is for lost and abandoned cars, wich this is. The owner is no where to be found, and does not want the car. Car has been non-moving for years. If I were a tow company, the title would be mine because of these facts, but I am just a person, so i need a company to act for me.

Im not trying to screw anyone, and every person i asked at dept highway safety/dmv/tax collector, they all said it was legal to have this done, and would be my best bet.

this only works if you own the car. the LAST registered owner according to the state of florida technically owns the car unless the bill of sale was notarized. this is unlikely and if this is the case, then you're basically fucked.
