Default Convention Center Car show...

**UPDATED with pics** Scroll down

So I have been there the last two days working on setting up the Chevy Booth. Well today all teh cars started pouring in. The first car that came in was the *cough**laugh** "Hulkster" 94 Dodge Viper...it was hideous. If I feel so inclined I will post pictures tomorrow. Although I know there will be more after the show opens. However the Second car was...***cream pants now*** Mercedes McLaren SLR....OMG That car is UNREAL. Got tons of pics and got under there to check out how the exaust setup works...VERY cool. Some lamborghini's, lots of porches, Tiger's Carerra GT, and there was like a 911 GT or something..mercedes GTR(older) Mclaren F1(one guy owned like all three)

Tons of all the newer cars some concepts. I Got to check them all out without the ropes and all that crap. Since I was working there the security guards were like yea whatever. Finally got to see alot of these cars up close. They are 100x more beautiful in person. Alot of the new 06 Chevy cars are pretty cool too, there is a full size hybrid Silverado, tons of SS everythings now. The z06 of course...HAWT. and lots of other stuffs.

The new 06 Viper GTS was there....sooooo badass. There was a cool lookin concept. Ford had a badass 05 and of course a GT 40.

All in all cool stuff there. Still don't know if I would pay to go but if you like cars(like myself) definitely go. I would just hate to go with a ton of people there and everything roped off.

Also now that I have worked one of these things...MAD respect for the people that travel with these companies and set these things up. It is a rediculous job(at laest for the chevy booth) I am hurting all over but man it looks good now. There is sooo much attention to detail it is unreal. The biggest PITA was lining up all the chevy emblems on the rims. If you go check out every car in the Chevy booth. Every bowtie is in horizontal. That was a SUCK job! hahaha

I could have worked the show but couldn't get out of my normal job. Got to put together the porsche and lexus display last year....just glad I didn't have to lay to much carpet. Talk about a backache.

I guess I was "contracted" through EIS. They were doing the GM, VW booths. Possibly others but I'm not sure. A guy at the firestation was "recruiting" cause they needed more hands he is a regular EIS employee. I will be tearing down sunday night. I may do it again next year not sure. It is HARD work...well at least for chevy. I know they are gonna have me swap out rims on sunday. I swaped out rims on 3 of the cars for the upgraded rims so the cars would look blingin' Not a big deal. They pay VERY well. Especially on Sunday :woot: The rim swapping wouldn't be so bad if hey had a jack that wouldn't keep leaking AND was an aluminum one.

I only took the job originally because I know I was gonna get first access to the cars and I must say it was worth it.

my brother called me last week to tell me about the show, but i'm still not sure if it will be worth going. it's definitely badass that you get to work closely with the cars though. i'd be all over that, lol.

Every year it seems to get a little bit better than the year before. Since there's a Viper Coupe there this year will obviously be the best ever.
