people who say nascar isnt slowing down arent paying attention. most races that were sold out a year in advance are now advertising tickets weeks before a race.

I dont see GM pulling out or putting less effort/money into thier NASCAR program but I wonder if this rumor if it is true has anything to do with GM pulling out of the IRL?

You are right on Carl and it was kind of what I was getting at too. The rednecks serve a purpose to the sport, they are the solid base and that base seems to be growing weary of the candy coated event NASCAR has turned into. If they loose more of their base do you think some yuppies are going to go rent RV's and spend a fortune at the track ? I think not. Th eyuppies will grow tired of it once it is not fashionable to be around it anymore and find something else. Then what will there be left ?

My wonder isn't NASCAR's future, it's more like how the fuck can GM keep dumping the mega bucks into various racing venues when it's stock is shit and their product no better? 100mil to campaign Caddys in the World Challenge? Normally I wouldn't armchair quarterback a company that size but considering the dumbfuck decisions they've made for so many years I gotta wonder who the fuck is calling the shots up there?

Good point Chuck and it could very well be part of this supposed shake up with GM and NASCAR my friend is eluding to. I have a feeling he knows more but is not telling me all of it yet in fear of somone linking it back to him.
