Default Time Serts

Anyone here use them instead of heli coils? With me getting ready to start my build up I want to go through all of the threads with these where bolts will be taken on/putt off alot in some area's like on the head and stuff like that. Wondering if anyone has had any kind of experience with them.

They work well but are very expensive.

Money is not really an option when it comes to this matter for the purpose. It will end up saving money in the long run, work better and be alot cleaner over all. Know of any local dealers?

time serts are what is used when northstar engines pull the head bolt threads, which they do like it is their job. it is a time consuming process but the kit is very trick and it turns out nicely. if you think you are going to be pulling the head alot get a stud kit, most bolts on newer engines are torque to yield so they should not be reused anyhow. just chase the threads , do not Tap them, and you should be fine. like fordified said why try to "fix" something that has not broken?

Any VW shop should have dual profile studs for the exhaust manifold. They are 10X1.5 on one end and 8X1.25 on the other. I use them all the time for studs that pull on the manifold. Time serts are very pricey. They do work quite well though. Way better than helicoil
