How long do coilovers usually last.

All depends on what you are using them for. Autocross, everyday use, rally, or drifting.

depends on what coilovers. and quality.
a friend of mine had dms gold 50mm's in his wrx, used them for two autocrosses, and maybe 6,000 miles, and blew a damper. those are near 3000$.
other people have 800$ megans, beat the shit out of them and never have problems.
and ALL coilovers wear out, and need to be rebuilt. and maintained.

Depends on the coilover some shitty ass ones will get you by prolly 1-1 1/2 years before rusting or fucking up. Good quality will get you up to 3-5 years depending on driving habait's.

i have Tein's on my 240, im goin on about a year and half wiht them. they still ride good , but a couple of my dampers are starting to stick. i think is because the constant sand it gets driven though. i have ran a couple autox's on them, and some occasional sliding. they have went through a lot of shit though.

Stupid ? here , but say i was to get coilovers like Groundcontol or Tein could I just buy the springs its self and not the shocks if i have a brand new car ? I know my friend got croundcontrol and put it on his car with stock shocks and he was fine until he slammed it all the way and he blew out the shocks and had to get like $2000 in suspinsion work done after that . So i guess I would be best to stay with 16s and Ebiach sportline springs since I can get a 2 inch drop my car will still have that low rider look

The coil overs don't go bad. It's the way the suspension is setup. I think you need to learn more about what a coil over suspension is and then you will find out what goes bad and what doesn't to ask the right kind of question. Also depends on what type and how you have them setup that go into play, kind of use blah blah blah. Probably longer then you'll have the car unless it's slammed to the frame.

I know my question was broad but I was just wondering in general how long they will last*mile wise* before something blows out and you need to rebuild them. I have the HKS hypermax II coilovers on my car if that helps.
