Just learned of the sport. Really interested. First heard about it from some drifter friends and now I wanna check it out. I'm no driver. I just wanna go and watch, for now. When and Where is the next local event?

Participating is always more fun than watching. Just do it.

If you have any other questions about this event, just email them.
Last event they gave people 7 runs each and a free pizza lunch.
It was held on a police training range in St Pete.
They needed 20 more cars. Add about 5 lbs more air to your tires,
though.- Bob

<-- addicted to autox

autox really does teach you about your car, your driving capabilities and builds confidence that can save you and your car from an accident.

don't fear starting with a stock car, because that is actually where you'll want to start. it is a very good starting point to learn your car.

its not about speed, how well the car is built, it is about you and the car.

i've seen Mustangs take a course faster than Miata's.

hope you come out, well worth the $$$ and the time.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

So true. Noobs always say their car isn't set up properly or doesn't have the right equipment. But if they don't get out there and learn what their car does in stock config then they really can't appreciate or learn what mods do to help.

Mod gradually so you experience what benefits each mod did.

I would love to drive and learn and suck, but............I'm currently the proud owner of a 1986 Toyota pick-up I'm rebuilding into an aggressive four-wheeler and a 2002 Kia Sportage as my daily driver. The 'yota is four wheel drive and slightly underpowered at the moment and the Kia is just a slight bit "tippy." Other than that, I'd be out there, but until I have the time, space, and money for a car (preferably an S13, but that's another story), I will have to only be able to attend as a spectator.

There, that's way more than I'm sure you cared to know, but that's my story and sadly, I have only that to say on the matter.

I love the 'Cross'....in fact, I'll probably be at the next sunriders event in a bone stock Mazda 6. I fear not the stock car, I loathe it.
