Well lets see if the Eclipse GT was RWD, turbo and lost a couple hundred pounds it'd be a contender for best sub-$25k compact but the Si will be quicker, handle better and be more reliable so go Honda.

Go with the civic everyone knows a DSM just breaks down.... Besides with the K20 oh excuse me the Z6 in the civic you have tons of aftermarket support and <20K for 197 hp is a better deal than <22K for 230 hp in the SRT4 that is if you're looking at dollar for horsepower. And besides like everyone has all ready said the eclipse is uglier than the new civic...

Both are sort of ugly, but i wont get used to the eclipse. Its got the looks of rwd, but doesnt operate like one. Its looks fu*ked up. With it's weight and complaint of traction control disfunctioning sometimes its calling for major understeer. The civic coupe isnt too bad at all, it will grow on me over time.
Reminds me of WRX/STI in the rear, while the front and side reminds of its cousin, the RSX.

I want to wait for the SI ,but I have to get the car now due to not having a car anymore ....So Ill be getting the reg 140hp civic . Will there be engine mods like coldair intakes or headers for reg 2006 civic coupe? If not engine mods then suspension mods like coilovers ? also a greedy exhaust or just in general any aftermarket mods . How long do you guys thin it will be before the aftermarket parts like coilovers and stuff come out cause i dont want to ride high in my civic forever

^ I dont know why you would think that they would have aftermarket parts for this car at your local auto parts store at this moment.
It's a new car, so dont expect aftermarket cam shafts for it to hit store selves for a few months.
If you want mods, custom make them your own, or talk to Honda. They probably have something at the dealer for customization.
There should be some parts that was carried over into the new civic, but not sure. No one knows exactly what this new civic is capable of besides Honda because its new to the market.
I rarely see modified new civics in public because not every ricer can afford a ~$12k and have extra for mods.
