Unhappy HELP ME!!!! need a mechanic

I have a 96 Chrysler Cirrus (keep the jokes to yourself) and my power steering line needs to be replaced. when i called chrysler they quoted me 500.00 with parts and labor. Can anyone do it for less?? or is that about right?

Apparently it's a larger hose, and they told her they have to pull the engine to get to it..... So they're going to charge her for a ton of labor... considering it's crysler, and that's what they 'specialize' in, it wouldn't take them more than like.. three hours to do it.

But, like most places, they'll keep the car all day, and charge her for 7 hours worth of labor.

I mean, she's female, and doesn't know that much about cars... so, she'd be easily taken advantage of by these people.

What motor is in it? Sounds like a 2.5L, those are a bitch to do.

Sorry I thought that estimate was from a gypsy joe shop. Sounds more like one that you would get from the dealer. I could prob hook you up with a Chrysler mech that would do it on the side for probly much less. But he lives in Pinellas.

I may be able to get it done cheaper once I get more information.
