'96 dodge neon vs honda civic
Definatly get the new civic, they have a 1.8 now having the power of a 2.0, in the new modified mag it talks about the new motor and fuel economy is higher. And for picking EITHER a neon or the civic, the civic IMO would be more likely choice........
well a civic is much more reliable. things will go wrong on a neon easily(especally if a 96 because its one of the oldest neons) but are also easy to fix. i have a dohc auto and a former co worker had a sohc civic v-tec( at least it had the stickers all over) auto from a dig i pulled 2 cars on him almost instantly. both cars are easy to get performance parts for so its up to you
neon any day...whether its SOHC or DOHC its still going to be faster stock for stock than most civics...not to mention its cheaper, IMO more reliable, and most importantly its NOT a civic(while it is a common ricer car, its not as common as a civic), sure there are more aftermarket parts for a civic...but its not like there is a shortage for neons....oh, more CID and torque dont hurt either
anyone who recommends getting a piece of shit 96 dodge neon over a civic should have their head checked. there is absolutely no comparison in build quality between a honda and a neon and looking on the autotrader should be all that you need to realize this. plus, with a civic you have aftermarket support and several different engine choices in case you want to make more power. yes, honda's are generally more expensive and so are their parts. but, as the saying goes "you get what you pay for."
oh, and by the way, i IMPOUND abandoned mid 90's neon's on a regular basis and most of these pieces of shit run or are 1-2 parts away from running.
