the issue most people have with the cars is they know next to nothing about them or why they have the reputation they have..
in a time when GM and Ford were building "muscle cars" with 225 HP that ran mid 15 second quater miles .. Nissan was building an AWD pure bred race car that had "280 HP" .. (actually more than that) .. that ran in the 13's .. at the same time.. subaru was building bad ass little AWD cars that raped most V8's on the road.. toyota too ..
in fact the R32 GTR was built specifically to compete in the australian touring car championship and won ALL of the races for 3 years, even with severe weight penalties. Eventually the rules were changed t oout law them to give GM and Ford a chance.
They are also stable plaforms to get alot of HP out of.. even by todays HP hungry standards ...
the misconception comes when people compare something like an 03 Cobra or a LS1 powered car with something thats 15 years old .. compare a 1992 GM car or a 1992 Ford car and you'll realise just how ahead of their time the Skylines were.
plainly put "Skyrine" is the call of the ignorant.. anyone who appreciates cars and the technology behind them and does a little reading will appreciate the skyline cars for what they were.

Yes, and I do, I especially love the ATESSA system and think there should be many more cars with something of the sort, but its the people who are blinded by the Skyline and think there isnt any other engine/car combo out there at all.
