Realibilty of Iszus pickup trucks
I've always heard good things about them.
Mini truck??
Mini truck??
How much? If you don't buy it let me know I will. If that says anything about the quality
Pretty much for the life of the truck the only thing you'll have to do is change the oil and make sure it has fresh fluids. The truck will outlast the original coat of paint from the factory and probably 2-3 repaints.

are they timing belt or timing chain motor?
They are timing belt. I would suggest replacing the water pump and timing belt since it has that many miles but you seem mechanically inclined enough to look at the belt and tell if it needs replacing or not.

Those have the electronic carb on them right? That will give you fits. Every Isuzu I've ever driven or heard has a surging idle like woah. makes a heads/cam/intake fox idle like a lexus. It will stay running, it just surges from 800 to 2500 RPM's constantly. We used to have one as a delivery truck at NAPA and the thing was the most reliable truck we owned.
Yes they have a "fuel injected" carb on them. They usually decide to get anal and want to be "different" then the rest of the motor parts, i think it wants to stand out and be noticed. I would just suggest taking it to a shop and getting it scanned to see what code is throwing the CEL light. definitally would be a good buy in my eyes.
