Default lightening car for efficieny

How much weight do you have to take off to actually see a change in your fuel economy?

Is there a formula to solve this?

Anybody help me out here?

My car's a few hundred pounds lighter than stock and my fuel mileage averages 15 mpg city, maybe 20 highway. Personal experience doesn't show much of a gain from when it was stock weight.

losing weight would drop the fuel consumption about as much as inflating your tires more.. look into another method of saving gas.

you'd get better gas mileage driving like a Korean War veteran. all along, I thought those old guys were just busting balls, but I jumped from 22 mpg to 31 mpg by just driving legally. and not using my air conditioner.
