i dont wait, nor have any friends that wait, if the cars gonna break its gonna break no matter what, just like life, ppl smoke and die at 90 ppl dont smoke and die at 30, drive it like theres no 2morrow!!! but then ull end up with an ugly grand prix rental like me

There's a "new car break in" thread somewhere around here. Might check that for suggestions.

Otherwise, my suggestion is to warm it up, change the oil, get it up to operating temp, go for a spirited drive varying speeds including downshifting, change the oil, and then do whatever you want. Waiting several thousand miles is a waste.

Default break in

i agree that what happens, happens, but i dont work 75 hour weeks to spend 35k$ on an evo and break something to find out the assholes at the dealer tell me i violated my warranty. so i think i'll make some mods and then take it to the track

Good luck. Mitsubishi loves to void warranty's for any and all track racing. Make sure you use a fake name or somethign when you race.

Just wait for the first oil change. Also I heard the Evos had weak clutches, you might want to look into that.
