DO NOT use credit cards. You will have the best of intentions (I'm gonna pay this off quick) then something will break or you'll see a new part you have to have (might as well put it on the credit card, I'm gonna pay it off quick anyway).. Next thing you know, card's maxed and car's broke.

I suck at keeping money in the bank for such matters. I usually wind up spending it all. So what I do is get some extra cash, and get a money order. Before you know it youll have several money orders you can use. Works out pretty well for me.

I try to save as much as I can to buy what I need. I usually hint around to the wife and my kids and parents near x-mas or my B-day. Never ever use credit cards to buy parts. I'm still paying some bills.
