i know its prolly the wrong forum but this one had the most people....please please please someone tell me why my car does this.


when it is hot outside my car wont start. the starter is working but its like there is no gas.

basically im stranded at work and im hungary

im thinking maybe the fuel pump???????? where is that and how hard is it to change???????

main fuel relay under the dash. drivers side. try clicking the key to the position before it starts a couple times before you crank it.

 

or your fuel pump is taking a shit does it do it when you have a full tank of gas?

 

yeah definitly it is trying to start like the starter is working but the motor wont crank. but yeah i do the key trick and that helps sometimes. but its so gay because its so random. it does not do it all the time, just seems like when its sitting in the sun for a while. the thing is though it wont start and i try it and try it and it wont start then outta no where it cranks right up with no hesitation(sp?).

so where excatly is my fuel pump, and how do i fuck with it??

its hard to tell about if it does it with a full tank cuz.....usally i dont have a full tank! but it does seem like it is more likely to happen when there is like no gas in the car or really low...jus above the E

Getting an SES light? My old Camaro did this shit, turned out it was a $20 sensor behind the balancer.

 

Yes, could be the main relay, ignitor or coil(both in the distributor)from what it sounds like to me. Do you have a friend that has the same motor, swap out the dist. and see what happens.
