hate to say it guys, but you're wrong.

first, independent suspension gives you LESS articulation compared to a solid axle. in addition, the angle off the wheel when it is dropped is more under the vehicle which makes it more likely for rolling over.

jabtay is correct about humvee's breaking axles. while they have this reputation as being a superior off road vehicle they are vastly overrated when it comes to serious off road rock crawling. i know, i've seen H1 owners try to keep up with a very modestly built jeep wrangler and its kinda pathetic.

video and pictures...of my best friend and his $50,000+ jeep.

i've spend several years helping him build this jeep...when i've been in connecticut...and have built a jeep myself. there is this misconcption among non-jeep enthusiasts that IRS is a better setup and i've no idea why.

Is you friend out of his fucking mind?? What in the hell could you possibly spend 50K on in that thing? Piece better have a box of gold bars in the glove box.

yes, he's probably out of his mind. he purchased a brand new jeep rubicon (26k) and now it has less than 8k miles on it.

the jeep's suspension was torn out and re-done by clayton off-road manufacturing which included a long arm setup with triangulated rear end, long arm setup in the front as well...roll cage, atlas 2 transfer case, springs, shocks, new motor (rolled the jeep, hydrolocked the original motor), new clutch, winch, high steer, hardened axles all the way around, spool in the rear (broke the OEM locker), and a bunch of other mods that i can't think of off the top of my head.
