Default A sad sad day for me ='(

Well after pushing very hard after waiting so long to get my car back, I run into a pretty big problem.

The bottom gear for the oil pump threads were bad. Its the gear that looks like a cam gear on the bottom of the front case. I bought a tap and tapped it and the tap broke off in there. I got something called a tap extractor. It had four pieces of metal that went into the grooves of the tap. Well those broke around the tap. I tried to drill a hole into the tap, and after 20 minutes it hasn't even dented the tap. What can I do? Do I have to take back the complete motor now? The four pieces that broke around the tap have to come out. Where will they go from where they went in? I may get lucky when the tap comes out and they will come with it, but if they dont whats next? Also any help on getting that tap out??

Your not going to be able to drill thru an extractor bit by hand like that. Youll have to tear it down and take it to a machine shop to have it drilled and retapped. This usually teaches a very good lesson, ive broken tons of extractor bits in turbo manifolds, luckily I worked at a machine shop. Good Luck.

I didn't think so. Tearing it back down is going to suck..I was afraid thats what I would need to do..
