Default Carrara GT track crash. 2 die

A routine open track event just like many held every weekend. We choose to track our cars but it doesn't make it any less sad when someone loses their life. RIP fellow motorheads.

At the risk of sounding callus, I should bookmark this for the naive youngsters who think exotics never see track time.

Bummer. Never good to see fellow enthusiasts pass away. Seems quite a few of these GT's are getting trashed both on and off the track.

A person on the forums I frequent (dieselstation) knows the owner of the car. This is what he said.
I know an owner of a CGT. Him and i have had similar topics of conversation about Lambo and the CGT and which was much better. Of course to him the CGT was the best. It was a track car, a race car. He loved it. We had very spirited conversations sometimes, as we are both very passionate about the things we love.

The point im making, is everyone discusses these cars and which is better, which is faster etc etc. Ben and i had the discussion over and over. The limits of any of these cars are really so far out of reach for any of us, that the differences are really inconsequential.

Ben died today. He was in his Carrera GT at Fontana, doing what it did best. He hit the wall, his passanger died instantly, he died shortly thereafter. My prayers are with his family, and may he rest in peace.

For the rest of us, we are all car guys, and we all need to take it easy out there. Life is too short. I have tears in my eyes as I write this. I witnessed the whole thing.

IT WAS NOT BEN'S FAULT!!! THE ORGANIZER HAD PICKED THE 150MPH ZONE AS THE ENTRANCE TO THE TRACK AND THE F-CAR DRIVER PULLED IN FRONT OF HIM NEAR THE END OF THE STRAGHT. THERE WERE NO CORNER WORKS AND NO FLAGS!!! HE TRIED TO AVOID HIM AND SPUN OUT AND HIT THE WALL AT NEARLY THAT SPEED.

The passenger died instantly on impact. Ben was airlifted to the hospital, but still had a pulse when they took him so PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY.

I saw this on another forum, very sad. In the other forum, they said the passenger went for a ride because he thought of buying one. Imagine how the guy that is being blamed for this feels.

Sad day - sad week - rumor had it was that he was over 165mph when the f-car pulled out onto the track in front of him - track marshall said go - guy hesitated - track marshall saw the Carrera GT - said stop the same time as the passenger in the f-car pulling out on the track said go. The f-car pulled out - Ben swerved - at 165 mph things start happening pretty quick.
