What is YOUR car supposed to idle at?
The Cadillac and Monte Carlo are probably automatics, which probably idle slightly higher (1,000 rpm) than a manual (750 rpm).

So I don't think your problem is the idle, but rather a leak in the intake somewhere, so when you press the gas, air comes in unmeasured, which causes it to stumble.

Find a repair manual and start looking through it for the checking procedure.

first of all, this is what you get for owning an rs......second, take it to a mechanic, mine did that and they had to fix the timing and something else, cost like 150 bucks and it was fixed the next day....stop asking questions when you know all you have to do is take it to a mechanic......dumbass

Most idle problems mistubishi's have mechanics know nothing about depending on who you take it to. Ive talked with him on IM and put him in the right direction as to where to start with his problem so he is learning.

Could be a sensor, my car had idling problems and it was the 02 sensors and the EGR control solenoid. But then I've got the 2.4
