Default lowering srpings

how do you tell the front springs from the rear?
does it even matter?
i tried to put skunk2 springs on the rear of the integra and it was way shorter the the gas shocks or whatever, but i was not sure if that was how it was suppose to be.

lol shocks are made to compress, so when you put them on eachother it is a little longer... the front springs usually have a few more coils then the rear also.
