See thats the problem...they do make power waaay too fuckin easily, but then the break down...

I think someone should make a titanium 4G63 block with titanium everything internals and turbo and shit, healthy amount of oil and take care of it...see if it ever breaks

"Healthy amount of oil and take care of it " is the only valid argument here. There aren't a lot of block and internals failure compared to other motors trying to make a ton of power in stock form. Failing accessories and abuse related items are a different story.

I dunno, a friend of mine has a rod sticking out of his block (true story, saw his block), although ultimately I suppose its because the lack of oil I assume.

Us MkIII guys need a titanium head gasket though. Unobtainium is just too expencive..

are you kidding me with that noise? that could very well have been the most retarded thing ive hearda bout dsm's... short of the parts counter guy saying that my friends 92 GSX never had a 6 bolt... fucking retards..

ive never ever in my life seen a block failure, or a crank failure. ive seen piston failures and rod failures, but that has happend on 7M's, 2JZ's and countless hondas.

the 4G63 is one of the strongest 4 cylinders produced in its time peroid, and still puts alot of todays 4 cylinders to shame. if youve ever seen a G63 connecting rod, youd think its from a V8. they are gangsta. those hondas justneed stage 17 axles or something.

but hey, a honda w/ a 4g63; at least it wont spit connecting rods out of the block

No shit, I couldnt tell you how much it bothers me when someone talks down a dsm because there unreliable...thats because of driver error, not the cars. Thats like saying every car but a mitsu has never had a problem.

I know NOTHING about the 4G63, other than shit happens. I will NOT argue with you about which the best 4 cyl of all time is because I agree.

It just seems like DSMs are just as prone to unreliability as MkIIIs, and I'm certain at least double the amount of MkIIIs were made compared to the Eclipse/Talon/Lazer etc.

Also, my friend with the rod going *peak!* has a 4G63. Like I said shit happens.

Dont get me wrong...do not think I am flaming or hating. I concider the 3S-GTE the exact 4 cyl replica of a 2JZ (IIRC 86mm x 86mm etc.) but the 4G63 is just nuts.

I'm just saying that most DSM guys seem like assholes from the DSMTuners site and beat their cars horribly, not allowing for any sort of reliabilty, but I personally have only had cool experiences with DSM guys

Hope I havent gone too far on a tangent here...I'm not one to doubt anything DSM related. Of course there are plenty of unreliable MkIIIs and 7Ms, but its because their owners dont know a damn and try to cut corners, let alone beating their car daily...but there are plenty still with a properly torqued MHG and 200k mi + strong
