Yes, yes it is.

The big secret to my car is that I route all the ducts from my A/C back into my intake. I had to reprogram my computer so that it would not turn off my compressor under full throttle but the ice cold air is what makes my car run the way it does. I tend to sweat my ass off during the summer, but when I get to blow the doors off some punk ass kid in a civic it's all worth it.

This guy actually makes real electric superchagers, but their power draw is similar to that of three starter motors. It takes thousands of watts to pump several hundred CFM of air at more than several PSI. The weight of the batteries and motors makes it a bit impractical compared to a turbo or regular supercharger.

I was reading about electrically assisted turbos and how they take so much power to help the spool that you can only do it once for 3 full seconds every 30 seconds or so because of how much electricity it actually takes to power them. Not 100% sure on the specs, but it was insane...that was just to get boost off the line too, then the exhaust gases take over!
