LS1 Powered Mustang
I think the gayest part about it is that the basic design has been around 50 years...and its STILL dominating!
Best thing GM ever did. Theres really not much Ford appealing to me V8 wise, save for the obvious DOHC and even easy roots to the 5.4 in teh Ford GT. And even THAT is hard to top!
All this from an import guy...its almost sad, isnt it?

Forged turbo LS6 > all.
I miss the ease of working on SBCs, even my LT1 which everyone knows is a bitch is more fun to work on than my 4v..
Lets pull off your longtubes to drop your tranny!
Just make sure you find a way to inject NEW oil into the motor WHILE its in flight.. damn LSoileater1's
Cobras will just shoot out their sparkplugs, but I hear on planes they have multiples of those so hopefully we're safe

Damn, you sound pretty down on Cobras.
It took me less time to drop my k-member and install headers, a new k-member, and coilovers on my Cobra than it did to install LT's on my ls6..
I'd never trade my 4v modular for a pushrod 2v, but that's just me.

But when it comes down to it, at least IMO, GM packaged more power, into a smaller package, with far, far, far cheaper modifications.
A camswap on our DOHC's is around 1500-2k just for the camshafts, one cam in the ole pushrod is of course a few hundred..
I love Cobras, but IMO it's like comparing a 300lb bodybuilder to a 140lb Bruce Lee in a fight.
While one is obviously going to be diesel as hell just by the magnitude of it, the other is equal or better based on simply technique and research.
GM did enormous amounts of SAE research into whether or not they should remain with pushrods, or of the benefit of switching over to OHC outweighed the pushrods.. And look what they came up with. 2006 they're still using pushrods, and look at the power.
My cobra will be turbo soon, I've gotten tired of the Vortech and want something a little more interesting, but I won't say that I wouldn't kill for a Turbo LS6.
You and I need to meet up some time, I'd really like to check out your turbo setup. I'm debating on ordering PTK hotparts, or having them custom fabbed. Hopefully someone in FL can fab them up.
