Actually the Fiero's caught fire in the wiring, I had a friend with one in highschool and it caught fire. They were basically mid engine grand ams, but now that there are hardly any left, they can be worth some money in good shape.

There were several companies that did convertibles and the nice ones can pull in quite a bit of money.
Make a post on Pennock's Fiero Forum under General Fiero Chat. There are several people on there that could give you an extremely accurate value of the car.

Engine that leaks oil, firewall insulation that would sag and sit on the exhaust manifold, and leaves/debris can easily fall and get stick between the exhaust manifold and firewall. Add all of this up and you have a fire waiting to happen from the factory.
All of these problems are also easy to fix. Ask anyone one who is running a Small Block Chevy, NorthStar, or 3800S/C in their Fiero.

Fiero = mid-engine Grand Am? I don't think so. The suspension was modeled after the Lotus Esprit's, and so was the bodywork. Sure the 2.8V6 isn't that great. What IS great is a Cadillac Northstar fits perfect, along with the GTP 3800SC Series II, and basically any smallblock Chevy. Carbed, TPI, LT1, LS1, etc.
