Why do people take these off and drive around on steelies? Is it just me or does this look terrible and have no function at all?

 

They do it for weight. LOL

Real trackers do it because the caps wont stay on going over a berm or rumble strips.

 

+1. My caps fell off all the goddamned time in my STOCK CIVIC just because I used to drive the fuck outta it over every kind of road and offroad surface.

 

i took them off my 96 ford taurus....but there was a reason for it...in suffolk county NY, the cops used that same car, no covers, so i took them off so i never got pulled over...they thought i was one of them lol

 

Um, because they usually end up flying off anyway and having none looks better than having 2 or 3.

I still have all of mine, yet they squeak like no other, so I'm debating taking them off until I get my rims.

 

I always recieved that comment when I had Rotas on my old Honda.

 

i can see it for people at the track and what not, but some people take them off their civic with altezzas and a huge muffler.. and think their car is fast shit.

it also looks extremely awesome when their car is lowered as low as can be on steelies with the nice tezzas.
