Heat shield for bumper...
As most people know, urethane melts. My exhaust once again is causing my freshly painted bumper to start rippling and melting. I was wondering if anyone has put a heat shield on their bumper or any other alternatives to prevent this from happening? Maybe if you know of an exhaust shop or something that does some sort of shield. I don't want to do a side dump out the middle of the car, even though that would be totally awesome.
Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure I can't. If it's any lower it will be bumped and get more dented/scratched than it is anyway.

Your b/f build cars tell him to make you something nice. a pieceof aluminum that rivets to the face of the bumper then bends underneath above the exhaust pipe and contours the bottom edge of the bumper from like 2 inches on one side of the arch to two inches on the other side. KNow what i mean. I would actually look pretty sweet. n/m im patening them and selling them. lets see ill get NISMO to market them for me so $200 for a heat shield.
Just kidding, but it would be cool.

Regina, I'm seriously considering doing it to mine, since mine has more angle than your normal N1 style exhaust, and mine actually rubs on the lower lip of the bumper support and is resting against where the bumper curves down back under the car, and it's making noises and melting the bumper as well as keeping my rear bumper covered in a nice thick coat of soot from my backfiring and such....luckily the black bumper hides it well.
I have aluminum flashing that I used to make a little heat barrier around my brake reservoir (though it doesn't really get that hot compared to alot of setups i've seen), thinking of using some rivets on the back there. It will look similar to Taylor's old blue S13, but i might paint it hi-temp black to keep it from sticking out. On your car, you could get by with an 'aluminum' look...or maybe i can spray a piece with the gunmetal gray paint i have and see how well it matches your bottom tone.

looks like the only other option you might have is to get a different muffler?

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.
