Default Who runs what?

Who here runs their external wastegate dump tube to atmosphere or recirculates it back into the exhaust? Is it too loud or what? I am just trying to get an insight on how it may be if I just have a dump tube running towards the ground.

Rerouting it in some locations would create more backpressure than the exhaust had before. If you route it in a right spot you might not create much difference.. Dumping it to atmosphere leaves it with no pressure at all added. Of course I can see the gain, just getting peoples opinions.

If you are worried about how loud it is, re-route it.

what mani do you have? if it is something like a drag where the WG collects on one runner, your going to get a LOUD ASS rattley harley sounding noise....BELIEVE ME, i know! ....and yes, it sounds cool for a while, but you get sick of it. If you have a sfp or inlinepro, something that collects off all four runners in the center, im sure it sounds much better but still loud...I'm going to route mine back in eventually...

It depends on how often you hit full boost. If you don't drive around at full boost all day, it's a really cool sound that you enjoy whenever you put your foot in it. If you boost all the time, it gets really annoying. I have a friend who drove his externally gated 240sx daily for a few months and still liked the noise, but he wasn't a leadfoot.

If it is to loud you should not be building or racing cars. Having a fast car means that there are concessions that you willing to make and sound has always been one of them. The better it breaths the faster it goes. I say dump it.
