I'd say that if the motor were built right, with forged pistons, con rods, sleeved, etc, then a B18C (Integra engine) could handle 300 hp just about fine.

But then again, the money it would take to create a perfectly reliable 300 hp Integra is going to be A LOT.

Yup. The same amount of money spent on a Chevy could get you 600 reliable horse (and probably 700lbs of torque)

Internals: CP pistons, Eagle rods, ARP head studs, AEBS sleeved 84mm block, GoldenEagle head gasket, Francho Performance ported & polished head.

pretty stout setup

Sure, you can make 700HP for $30 on an old chevy but its pretty sad when that boosted FWD teg can beat you on a track with actual turns. Don't even think about racing a 240 or some of the other RWD import, that would just be a rape session.

I also find it rediculous when I read a parts catalog or what not and the same parts for 1950's chevy's or fords are still being shared with the later 80's early 90's models.

4. take it to a crusher, turn it into thousands of small cubes, and throw them off the top of the empire state building
5. small stickers are 10 hp window banners are 20hp=more you get the faster you go
6. steely rims and a big ass wing will make you run 10's in the sand
7. tons of speakers in the rear
8. throw a 2jz in it-lol
This is the way to make a "hachi" a better car!!

Do you like any car that isn't a Nissan? Seriously?

The entire point of this discussion was to say that for high horsepower, it's hard to beat a very strong factory engine made to take it.

No one said anything, at all, about handling, or roadracing.
