Whose got the fastest....
I think my car has a high ratio of for handling vs power.
Otherwise, it depends too much on what type of handling events you're talking about. Autocross, track days, etc. Obviously a car with a lot of power will do better on a regular track than one of similar handling, but less power.
Just like drag racing, you have 1000 hp, but if you can't put power down, is your car that fast? Maybe on the highway? What constitues fast?

One thing I'll add though...
in terms of handling, nobody in a Sedan based car should even comment about how well their car handles. All the springs, shocks, and swaybars in the world aren't going to change a compromise design from the beginning.

I don't think that just because a car is based off of a sedan platform means it won't handle well.

The WRX and EVO especially, are well done versions of econoboxes. Sure they can put down numbers, but they just won't EVER have the pure design intentions of a more purpose built sportscar. They're still heavy, tall, and relatively narrow.
Same thing with a Civic, Mustang, etc.
My statement is that if you give an OEM manufacturer free reign to design a purpose built sports car that doesn't have to sell millions of copies, you'll NEVER end up with a WRX, M3, or Mustang.
These cars are VERY GOOD compromises, but they aren't fully oriented sportscars.
As more of a comparison, given all the same "mods" and an equal power to weight ratio, I think that a purpose built sportscar will be faster around a roadcourse than a sedan based car.

i would definately agree with you there. I hope we have a tr road coarse event sometime. I'd definately like the opportunity to race my car in an environment it excels in.
