Do what I've been doing for 9 years...buy privately, not from a dealership.
Buy used, save, build credit, then if you have the urge, buy new. Also you'll have a greater appreciation for the new car when you do finally get it, that you'll take care of it.

All those dealers and resellers have to make a profit to pay for the building, the land, employees, insurance, etc. Personally I'd rather just pay for the car.
Both of my cars, total, cost me about $3,200.
Cheap reliable cars are out there, and dealerships aren't the only ones selling them.

Pfft, if you can put $1,500 down, buy a $1,500 car and make no payments to anyone, and be able to have cheaper insurance. Don't even try telling me there are no good $1500 cars out there. I've never paid more than $1,900 for a car!
